If I live inside a square
Filled with sun
Until night draws in.
I live and if you somewhere
Are dreaming too
Of a flashing light that turns
Off the darkness of my fingers.
If dreams descend like stars
To drink the day’s din.
If the deepest truth hid
In the uncertainty of dreams.
If the light always leaves
Its secret over the things.
If the night’s murmur grows softer
Inside the volcano’s womb.
If you look at me in silence and the world
Stops spinning.
If the rain quickens on your lips.
If the cloud defeats me
with her beauty
If love raises us from the ashes.
